NOTICE OF CLOSURE OF OFFICE
The public is hereby informed that, in view of its scheduled Team Building Exercise, the Head Office at Ebène and the Legal Metrology Services at Bell Village will be closed on Thursday 18 December 2025.

NOTICE TO IMPORTERS IN ISLAND OF RODRIGUES
The Ministry of Commerce and Consumer Protection wishes to inform all importers that following the promulgation of the Consumer Protection (Consumer Goods) (Maximum Mark-Up) (Amendment No. 4) Regulations 2025 and the Consumer Protection (Pharmaceutical Products) (Maximum Mark-Up) (Amendment) Regulations 2025, the commodities listed as per table below will be subject to price control under the Maximum Markup Regime.
This measure is applicable the Island of Rodrigues and will be effective as from 15 December 2025.

All importers and manufacturers in Rodrigues are therefore requested to submit their returns as per Sections 3 (1) and 4 of the Consumer Protection (Consumer Goods) (Maximum Mark-Up) Regulations 1998. The process for submission of new returns are as following –
1. Registration of importer on the Price Fixing Information System (PFIS)
• To access the PFIS, importers will be required to open up their web browser and type the following URL: http://pfu.govmu.org
• Click on “Register As a Trader or Importer”
• Fill in your company's details (BRN/VAT document) once your account has been activated

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO IMPORTERS
Updating of information on the Price Fixing Information System (PFIS)
Importers are requested to fill in the “EAN” Code (Bar Code) as displayed on products in retail outlets. Importers are also required to update the same information for the commodities for which the costing returns have already been approved.
Importers should update same at the earliest possible.

COMMUNIQUE
The Ministry of Commerce and Consumer Protection wishes to inform the general public that the Government has decided to provide a subsidy to improve the purchasing power of consumers and ease the cost of living on the following five (5) essential commodities, effective as from 26 August 2025:

| Processed Cheese (excluding sliced cheese) | 10 | per 250 g | 500 g |

Traders are reminded that selling the above-mentioned essential goods at a price which is higher than the approved subsidised maximum retail price will be liable to a fix penalty amounting to Rs5000.
Refund of Subsidy
Importers are requested to contact the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) for any queries with regard to the modalities for claim of subsidy on 207 6000 during working hours.
